And they do clutter up the screen a bit awkwardly, as it’s slightly strange that every enemy dies and leaves the exact same corpse shape. I will say that it’s a bit challenging to manage this new corpse mechanic, as you’re doing so many other moves that remembering to explode corpses or use one of the other skills on them kind of slips your mind. The Necromancer’s skills are brutal, visceral and feel like a proper return to the Old Ways for the beloved Diablo class. Something akin to a frost nova Wizard build where I have slowing/freezing curses/attacks in every slot, and barely anything can reach me.An almost melee build that revolves around a short-range death nova that kills enemies near me, combined with a curse that executes enemies instantly at low health.A bone spear build that sends out splintered daggers at enemies while my army of skeletons and golems tank for me.A build that relies on maxing essence to create one super-wraith that costs all your mana, but essentially one-shots enemies because it’s so powerful.A build that uses a bone spike stun skill with Haunt of Vaxo to create shadow clones to make my army grow larger.I’ve messed around with several different early builds for my Necromancer, but again, this is sort of mish-mashing skills without any clear itemization helping the process. While you will assemble a large amount of “pets,” (easily eight or nine at any given time), the Necro plays more like a mix of Witch Doctor and Wizard, but feels distinctive from both as well. One tricky thing about the Necromancer was bringing it back in a way that didn’t feel too similar to the Witch Doctor, which was effectively the Necro’s replacement in D3.
